At least in the U.S., apart from the obvious poisoning of our food supply and the cruel mistreatment of livestock-
The information highway is running a muck with the oldest and the newest research, unfounded claims, and rumors on what's good, bad, right and wrong for the health of humanity. If we become engrossed in these reports then we allow the contributors of the scientific community and the counter rebellion thereof to frighten us out of our freedom to taste and see that the Lord is good.
"To the pure, all things are pure."
Yes, "All things are permissible, but not all things are beneficial." But to be scared to a standstill or driven by the concerns of the world is to take the way of the faithless. If we will keep our mind on Christ and be led by His Spirit within us, our peace will be found even through the process of wrestling between the Spirit and the flesh, until like Jacob, we insist, "Not until YOU bless me!"
"It is for freedom that Christ came to set you free."
Do you eat meat? Would you rather not? Then that is your worship unto the Lord. We can not and should not try to convict or convince others to follow what is in reality our own personal freedom in Christ.

"Food will not commend us to God. We are no worse off if we do not eat, and no better off if we do." (1Corinthians 8:8)
